With a passion for helping others navigate challenges and build fulfilling lives, Julie is a dedicated Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). She brings a wealth of experience in mental health, research, and vocational counseling, blending compassionate support with practice-based strategies.
For nearly two decades, Julie has worked as a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. She has played a key role in studies exploring topics such as memory, depression, burnout, and brain function. Her expertise includes research coordination, psychological assessments, and participant engagement—always with a focus on the human experience behind the data.
Before her research role, Julie supported individuals in career development, rehabilitation, and vocational counseling. Whether coaching employees, managing residential services for individuals with brain injuries, or helping people with disabilities find meaningful work, she has consistently championed empowerment and growth.
She holds an M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an M.A. in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from East Carolina University, and a B.A. in Psychology from Radford University.
Guided by a deep commitment to mental health and well-being, Julie continues to create space for healing, learning, and progress in every aspect of her work.
